This hospital is home to the Texas Transplant Institute, Methodist Healthcare’s transplant program—the first Medicare-approved heart transplant program in South Texas. It offers the only comprehensive private hospital-based heart failure center in the region. Our heart transplant team is trained to install cardiac assist devices, a bridge to transplantation. In addition to providing a continuum of inpatient cardiac care, there are many outpatient services including dietary counseling, patient education, management of medications, helping patients set wellness goals, organizing and facilitating support groups for patients and their families and Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation.
